MANSFIELD
in WORLD WAR II
by

Society
The new book is 60 pages
long, in sub A4
format, and costs £4.95.
It Mansfield in World War II is a compilation of memories by people who lived in Mansfield during that war. Mansfield was very fortunate in not being a target for enemy bombing, while producing materials for the war effort. This made it a safe place for its hospitals to treat the wounded and for children who had been evacuated from areas of danger.
These memories don't recall a time of personal danger but of managing to cope with the restrictions that wartime brings. Some describe ordinary day to day actions which are now a thing of the past. These are worth recording so that they are not forgotten.
